I'm sure you're aware, but it is possible to update your ports tree
locally during times like these (which are rare in my experience).
I've done it on occasion.  I don't know about the two ports you're
referring to, but it can often be as simple as updating the distinfo
and Makefile of the port to match the new version.

Not only does that help you, but it helps other people too when you
send-pr the update for when the ports tree thaws.
