Thunderbird 2.0 is out: Anybody working on a port?

	Almost certainly.  See the "MAINTAINERS" entry in the Makefile
to find out who.
	A major version bump of _anything_ is going to receive a fair
amount of attention (read "extra testing") even if the actual
changes turn out to be fairly small.
