Then you may just install linux_base-fc3 but not do a replacement!
It's much easier. Consider adding next line to /etc/make.conf:
OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT=fc3

And all linux ports should work fine with linux_base-fc3.

None are. We don't have a linuxolator for AMD64 yet. That's why one
should install i386/compat on AMD64 to run _i386_ linux binaries.

And to be more precise, linux_base-fc3 (and it's companions,
i.e. bsd.linux-rpm.mk) by desing doesn't have problems to
build/run/etc on i386/AMD platforms though running at i386 mode.
