Gnomevfs update workaround

When updating devel/gnomevfs2 I get the following error:

gnomevfs2-2.12.2_2: bind installed with PORT_REPLACES_BASE_BIND causes 
build problems.
*** Error code 1

Is there a workaround that does not require me to mess with my 
finally-working Bind installation?  Is installing Bind with 
PORT_REPLACES_BASE_BIND deprecated in some way?  Thanks for your time!
