Since this port is unmaintained ("ports at FreeBSD.org" is this mailing list, which
is the placeholder for unmaintained ports), it won't be updated until someone
that uses it (you?) take an interest in it and writes up a PR for it.  Ideally,
if you use it often, you could adopt it and maintain it to get updates in in a
timely fashion.
