Well, yeah, schily's idiosyncrasies are rather famous. :-)

Fwiw, Ivo, you could always submit a slave-port to cdrtools (or even a 
completely new port) that uses those patches and produces a cdrtools-redhat 
package, which CONFLICTS with cdrtools. That package could act as a drop-in 
replacement for cdrtools for anyone who really wants it and the rest of the 
world would never get it, which is probably in schily's best interest as well 
(as he's mostly annoyed by supporting code he didn't write).
