FreeBSD Port: wget-1.8.2_6

When I try and run "pkg_add wget-1.8.2_6.tgz "  I get the error
"pkg_add: read_plist: bad command '@conflicts wget-devel-*'"

I've search the net for how to fix this error but no luck.  Or even to
understand what it means.  I don't have wget_devel insalled.  I have all the
required packages installed except for openssl-0.9.7e_2 which I'm having a
simular problem with.

Please help.
