As far I know, mplayer people have problems with cvs tarball builds, and 
we can't get the ffmpeg-devel source.  Can you make a recent copy 
avaiable in any place?

Also, a new libavutil library is present now in ffmpeg CVS, that may 
need configure changes in ports like transcode or a way to make 
libavutil statically build with libavcodec/libavformat
