You are correct. I was distract from reading the archives, and said 3.2.1
where it actually is 3.1.4 .....
What I did is fetch the ISO, and burn that on a CD.
Freshly install the system from there. Get KDE and others from the
packages on the CD. Config Xfree86 ....
And in sysinstall set the desktop to KDE
Then 'startx'

I still have the softlinks in place, and I've installed compat4x which has the
libstdc++.so.3.
So Where do I go from here. (other than cleanup the links....)
