I don't really know much about this, but the message you get here
looks a bit odd. When I run pgp6 I get

  astrocyte:kw217$ pgp6
  Pretty Good Privacy(tm) Version 6.5.8
  (c) 1999 Network Associates Inc.
Uses the RSAREF(tm) Toolkit, which is copyright RSA Data Security, Inc.
Export of this software may be restricted by the U.S. government.

For a usage summary, type: pgp -h
  astrocyte:kw217$

In other words, I can do all the pgp operations with various options
to the pgp binary, rather than having to run different commands for
each. Is your pgp5 some kind of wrapper?
