detecting c++ headers idrectory

Hi all,

I can't find an elegant way to check form a port's Makefile, whether the C++ 
header files are in /usr/include/g++ or /usr/include/c++/<version>. Does 
anyone have an applicable method for a port that doesn't use autoconf?
