Since the maintainer is listed as ports at freebsd.org there isn't a
specific maintainer.

I would suggest that you read The Porters Handbook
(http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/porters-handbook/index.html) and
submit your changes through the PR system as described in The Porters
Handbook.
