Just another reminder: This still hasn't been looked at, yet. Are the
remote vulnerabilities [1] not considered important or am I missing
something?

Same here, though not a vulnerability. The FreeBSD mirrors don't seem to
have the old distfile, either, so the old port is currently not usable
if you don't have the file already.
