If $SHELL is not /bin/sh, the build will fail.

If $SHELL is e.g. /usr/local/bin/bash, and you start a sub-shell /bin/sh
and build, it will fail.

If you change the shell in /etc/passwd to /bin/sh, and log in again,
it will work. Would you please investigate this ?
