Bartek,

GH_COMMIT can't be practically dropped because then port system expects
directory to come w/out the commit tag, and github always sends tarball with
the tagged directory. You can bring this up with bdrewery@, this has been
discussed a lot and I was the one who brought the issue up.

New rules need to be verified first, and also documented in the handbook.
