Mitigation is to disable the mixer module entirely if you use pulseaudio.
Upstream is considering replacing mixer with
https://git.enlightenment.org/devs/ceolin/epulse.git/ , however it is not yet
done.

Consider disabling either the entire mixer, or just mixer/pa.c, until this is
fixed. (It also doesn't work anyway, see bug 198732.)
