The current port creates garbled man pages (actually, those are html files that
render pretty horribly under man(1) ).

Upstream approved a patch to streamline the generation of doc files.

The attached patch takes it into account and should generate proper man pages.

While there, update to the latest version in the 1.4.x branch.
