 Sorry for the late reply on this.
 
 Would it be possible to make the web frontend optional? I will not be
 using it in my configuration and would like the option of not requiring
 it. nagios builds happily without PHP installed (nor even libgd for that
 matter) which suggests that the frontend features are not required.
 
 If this is acceptable, I'm fine providing a patch. Or, alternately,
 would a child port be a better idea?
