 Sorry to insist. I install pkgng package with pkg as it is shown in the 
 PR description :
 
 # pkg add zsh-4.3.17_1.txz
 Installing zsh-4.3.17_1...pkg: the package is not valid
 
 Failed to install the following 1 package(s): zsh-4.3.17_1.txz.
 
 If using the traditional pkg_add command, the message is different 
 (metas are also different) :
 
 # pkg_add zsh-4.3.17_1.txz
 tar: +CONTENTS: Not found in archive
 tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors.
 pkg_add: tar extract of /root/zsh-4.3.17_1.txz failed!
 pkg_add: unable to extract table of contents file from 
 '/root/zsh-4.3.17_1.txz' - not a package?
