I checked my 'Net connection with ping, ftp'd to a mirror, used the same pages I wanted to open with Elinks with Links, which works, no sign of other failure except from Elinks. Ports tree up-to-date. HP Pavilion laptop running amd64, uname says "9.0-PRERELEASE". It only happens with some sites like redhat.com or debian.org. Sites working include netbsd.org or freebsd.org. Maybe this is related: https://trac.macports.org/ticket/24143.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try to open www.redhat.com with elinks
