 I just ran into this nasty bug last night as well.  The patch in
 
 http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=148238
 
 fixes OSPF for me on RELENG_8. Without it, ospfd does not see any neighbours.
 Any chance of committing the patch to the ports tree ?
