>How-To-Repeat:
Upgrade to FreeBSD 7.2 and use the vlc package
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-7-stable/Latest/vlc.tbz

VLC was started like this:

vlc -vvv -I dummy  udp://@239.245.0.1:1010  --sout '#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,vb=1024,scale=1.0,acodec=mpga,ab=128,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=std{access=udp,mux=ts,dst=10.10.10.10:1234}}'



>Fix:
Not sure.  Perhaps some buffering configuration changed from
FreeBSD 7.1 to 7.2 and there is some setting that can alter this.
