The version of p5-SNMP available in Ports ( depends on net-snmp4 which is marked as deprecated. Current upstream version ( is built as a part of net-mgmt/net-snmp port by default. Therefore I think net-mgmt/p5-SNMP should be marked as DEPRECATED and eventually removed from the Ports Tree.
