Being the unofficial co-maintainer of the port I have several questions:
1. Did you already have an old dist file for aegis in your system? (a
simelure problem was reported and fixed on Debian a dew months ago)
2. What is the ident on your Makefile?
3. How old are the sources you used to build your system/kernel with
(this was a issue with 8-Current and perhaps 7 a few months ago but has
since been resolved on 8-Current)?
4. What version of GCC are you using?
Some general comments:
1. I have been after Ale for a while to use the native Aegis
configure vs. the ports make file version for a while (on 4.24-RC2 many
of the FreeBSD build problems where fixed including this one in the
upstream version of Aegis) so hopefully moving to this will fix some of
these issues (note to Ale you should be able to get the aepatch/aedist
version off Walter's aeget site... see the thread between me and Peter
on aegis-devel for details on what was corrected)
2. It is incorrect to modify work/aegis-4.24/configure (or any of
it's dependent files) because at least at the aegis-developer level
these are recreated for each build (see Howto.cook for details) you
should be modifing common/ (I think this dir is only present in the
aedist package version of aegis [you can get it from
http://aegis.sourceforge.net/aegis-4.24.ae). If your going to go this
route you will also need to install devel/cook and devel/fhist (I think
archive/tardy also but not 100% sure... see the contributing to aegis
chapter in the user guide)
