The mathfonts is improperly installed.  After the fonts are
written into /usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/mathfonts/ both
fonts.dir and fonts.scale are 0 byte files.

>How-To-Repeat:

Install port.  Add the font path to xorg.conf.  Restart X.
and check the log file for ignored font paths.

Manually run mkfontscale and mkfontdir.
