I can get it to run by:
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libpthread.so dvdrip
This makes it start, although I don't have any media available to
actually try it. Do you have an environmental variable that might be
pulling the threading lib into your window manager or something?
Can you try doing a make in /usr/ports/x11-toolkits/p5-Gtk2 and then
"ldd ./work/Gtk2-1.122/blib/arch/auto/Gtk2/Gtk2.so"
See if you have a threading library (libc_r.so or libpthread.so)linked in.
BTW, I have the same problem on both 6-STABLE and 7-CURRENT systems.
