mediawiki port does not require mysql?

hi,

i installed /usr/ports/www/mediawiki and mysql was not a requirement (is 
this right?).  everything went ok but when i went to configure mediawiki, it 
returned this error:


Checking environment...

Warning: dl(): Unable to load dynamic library 
'/usr/local/lib/php/20020429/mysql.so' - Cannot open 
"/usr/local/lib/php/20020429/mysql.so" in 
/usr/local/www/data-dist/mediawiki/install-utils.inc on line 17
Could not load MySQL driver! Please compile php --with-mysql or install the 
mysql.so module.


i tried installing /usr/ports/databases/mysql50-server and got these errors:

am i seeing ports bugs or should i be expecting these problems considering 
that i'm running 4.8-stable?

the system is running 4.8-stable i386 and is jailed.
