FreeBSD albertross.txn.cpqcorp.net 5.4-STABLE FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE #2: Thu Oct 13 11:35:23 CDT 2005 root at albertross.txn.cpqcorp.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/ALBERTROSS i386
>Description:
-bash-2.05b# mtv
mtv: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
-bash-2.05b# acroread7
/usr/local/lib/acroread/usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0/Reader/intellinux/bin/acroread: error while loading shared libraries: libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
This happens on installation of:
linux_base-rh-9
linux-XFree86-libs-4.3.99.902_3
mtv-1.2.5_2
acroread7-7.0.1
>How-To-Repeat:
I installed 5.4 from CD, installed cvsup-without-gui from ports, installed portupgrade from ports, ran portugrade to upgrade installed ports, then installed linux_base-rh-9 and other ports from above.
Doing below solved problem with mtv, still have problems with acroread7 and GdkPixbuf, but that is another story.
>Fix:
I added:
/usr/X11R6/lib
to the file
/compat/linux/etc/ld.so.conf
and then executed:
/compat/linux/sbin/ldconfig
