<cperciva> Mavvie: and doing anything with 2.4.x is only going to cause lots of headaches
<cperciva> Mavvie: basically, lilypond used to be built on top of TeX
<cperciva> Mavvie: but in 2.6 they wrote their own layout engine, so it no longer depends on TeX

After wasting six hours on trying to get this stuff to work, I give
up and follow the advise of the master.
