>Description:
The bug is actually well described here: http://frontrangebsd.org/pipermail/kde-freebsd/2005-May/010939.html
I'll paste the relevant information from that page:

It's kopete, coupled with a protocol change in MSN. So use gaim for now, until
kopete is updated (KDE 3.4.1, i'll wager).

Note, this was posted all the way back in may and still exists.

kopete is bundled with the net/kdenetwork port. I've talked with the guys in the #kopete channel on freenode and they apparently haven't heard of the problem, which is why I'm posting this problem report.
Their best bet was to compile kopete with debug flags and see what it said. (Although I have no idea how to do this, especially since its bundled in the net/kdenetwork port and not as a port for itself)

I compiled everything myself with -pipe -O2 and -march=pentium-m

Summary: Using the MSN protocol in kopete on FreeBSD does not work.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install the kde metaport or kde-lite and the net/kdenetwork port, open kopete and try to log in with an MSN account.
I compiled everything myself with -pipe -O2 and -march=pentium-m
