 You did now, yes, but seemingly never before. It is possible that an
 autotools package you once had installed wasn't properly deinstalled and
 left some files behind that cause the problem you are seeing now. I'm not
 an autotools guru at all (I actually avoid that stuff whenever I can), but
 you might be able to find some old stuff by deinstalling all autotools
 packages again and browsing through /usr/local; if you find something
 suspicious, move it to a backup directory and try installing cal3d again.
