Sure, I actually screwed up by not changing
externVars.h.in to externVars.h as well.
configure sets PACKAGE_VERSION to the version number,
after configure it can be changed to show the revision number
from bsd ports. Portmanager picks that up because it uses
externVars.h PACKAGE_VERSION to display version info on various
reports. When users send in questions and paste the output it
is easy for me to tell what version/revision level they are at.
If you run the sed comand post patch, configure comes
along and wipes the change to PKG_VERSION out
