It builds fine on FreeBSD-5.3, but plist is uncomplete:
a lot of libraries are installed under $PREFIX/lib/k3d
and a lot of headers under $PREFIX/include/k3d.

Warning: this port conflicts with math/atlas and math/superlu
(it installs libcblas.so and libsuperlu.so).
