 Probably you should wrap your modifications inside an 
 .if ${OSVERSION} <  .....
 because the port works on 6/CURRENT and the fix for 5.x is much
 simpler.
 
 Next time please contact the maintainer directly (usually preferred) or
 CC him, as GNATS doesn't CC port maintainers.
