Yes, I have run firefox as root (it is OK)!
( But running as root for the first time should be no longer needed:

I found that I have the problem if I run as root with my home directory
as HOME, I suspect a problem in .phoenix or .mozilla ... but I don't
want lost my parameters! I have disabled the extensions (may be it will
be interesting to have a parameter in the command line to disable
extensions).
