Regarding the size issue, it appears the tarball for the release was
re-rolled with a bunch more automake/autoconf changes. The code still
seems to work fine, I tested with the new distfile and it works ok
with the existing port. Could we just change the SIZE?
For debug mode, I personally find the default behavior of staying in the
foreground to be more correct, since it allows people to easily test and
use process supervision tools whereas the other mode does not. It should
be a command-line option, but until it is, I'd like to have it built in
debug mode, since it's not particularly verbose. So if there's no
objection, I'd like to leave it in place.
