System: FreeBSD castor.loutre.ath.cx 5.1-CURRENT FreeBSD 5.1-CURRENT #0: Sun Jul 6 16:20:48 CEST 2003 root at castor.loutre.ath.cx:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/CASTOR i386

I'm unable to check the consistency of my ext(2|3) filesystem after an incorect umounting of my hard drive.
        castor# fsck_ext2fs /dev/ad0s5

        ** /dev/ad0s5
ioctl (GCINFO): Inappropriate ioctl for device
        /dev/ad0s5: can't read disk label

Checking & Cleaning the filesystem with linux works fine and the fs is ok.

Hard reset your computer with an ext2 fs mounted, and try to check this fs...
You can simply check an ext2 fs :-)
