The mod_php4 port (and thus probably the lang/php4 port) does not
pass PREFIX to configure.
>How-To-Repeat:
set PREFIX to something other than /usr/local, try to build mod_php4.
Looking at work/php-4.3.2/Makefile shows that the prefix is still set
to /usr/local
>Fix:
I added CONFIGURE_ARGS+=--prefix=${PREFIX} to work/Makefile.inc and
reconfigured+rebuild the port.
