This sparked me to test our machine here:

CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5355 @ 2.66GHz (2666.68-MHz K8-class CPU)
real memory = 9395240960 (8960 MB)
avail memory = 8295161856 (7910 MB)
FreeBSD/SMP: Multiprocessor System Detected: 8 CPU
da0 at arcmsr0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0
da0: <Areca ARC-1220-VOL#00 R001> Fixed Direct Access SCSI-5 device
da0: 166.666MB/s transfers (83.333MHz, offset 32, 16bit), Tagged Queueing Enabled
da0: 333785MB (683591680 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 42551C)
FreeBSD test 6.2-RELEASE-p3 FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE-p3 #2: Thu Apr 26 15:20:20 BST 2007
root at test1:/usr/src/sys/amd64/compile/MPUK_SMP amd64

Using all the enhanced settings mentioned except TSC as it doesnt seem to apply even when set.
select_index 200000 0 0 23990.95
select_index 200000 0 0 21578.29
select_index 200000 0 0 21342.61
select_index 200000 0 0 20808.31
select_index 200000 0 0 22401.80

So something very bad is happening here as with 21.28Ghz of CPU its scoring half that
of your machine which only has 8Ghz. Is STABLE that much quicker than RELEASE?

    Regards
    Steve
