freebsd-performance Digest, Vol 30, Issue 16

Have you tried to disable any optimizations in CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS
of /etc/make.conf  and rebuild the system ?
I had bad expirience with it (enabled optimization options) - fairly
downgrade of performance on my desktop ...
