openoffice-1.1 build fails with 5.2-RC2

When trying to compile openoffice-1.1 using ports cvsup'd on 12/18
(openoffice-1.1 Makefile is dated 11/18) under

FreeBSD mikes.siralan.org 5.2-RC FreeBSD 5.2-RC #0: Mon Dec 15 20:26:45 EST 2003     mikes at mikes.siralan.org:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/MIKES  i386

I get:

openoffice-2.0-devel is marked "BROKEN" in the Makefile.

(My interest is in developing an instructional platform for teaching
policy analysis, including packages like openoffice, grass, and R; my
need is not a current one).
