Fix 24bit sample handling in FreeBSD

Based on https://github.com/mekanix/jack2/tree/feature/freebsd, this patch
fixes 24bit sample output on FreeBSD and supposedly also input (not tested).

Since these changes are specific to FreeBSD they are guarded by #ifdefs,
compatible with upstream.
