Hoping someone can help..

I'm trying to install faad as it's required for ffmpeg and the mediatomb ports however it keeps failing.. I receive a number of warnings similar to the following:

configure.in:14: warning: AC_CACHE_VAL(lt_prog_compiler_pic_works_CXX, ...): suspicious cache-id, must contain _cv_ to be cached

and finally the install fails with the following message:
...
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... ./install-sh -c -d
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether gmake sets $(MAKE)... yes
./configure.lineno: 2552: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")")
===>  Script "configure" failed unexpectedly.
Please report the problem to multimedia at FreeBSD.org [maintainer] and attach
the "/usr/ports/audio/faad/work/faad2-2.7/config.log" including the output
of the failure of your make command. Also, it might be a good idea to provide
an overview of all packages installed on your system (e.g. an `ls
/var/db/pkg`).
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/ports/audio/faad.
