Because, they are under the gstreamer-plugins-* tarball. You can see we
have gstreamer-ffmpeg, because it's a offical name. As for the 'gst' isn't
clear when you search in the google, freshports and etc. The 'gstreamer'
is a real name. Fedora[1] and Gentoo packages have 'gstreamer-*'.

Not sure what you mean? gstreamer<ver>-* (gstreamer010-*)? If you do, then
I kind of agree. Easier for us to search it.

That one is what I would like to see change. We should have
gstreamer010-[...]. It's too late for now, we should be hold and wait
until next major version of gstreamer. I think, the next major release
should have gstreamer<ver>-* then repocopy gstreamer-* to gstreamer010-*
and delete gstreamer-*.
