volume problems with snd_via8233

Tried them with no luck. I don't know if I patched correctly though: 
I first tried the via8233.c.diff patch. (I still couldn't change volume)
and then: ac97.c.diff     vchan.c.diff (hint from fbsd-multimedia list).
