Recommended hardware and software to capture video stream

I have been using the Hauppage WinPVR 350 on my home server/firewall.  With 
a slightly modified driver that was originally posted by John Wehle 
<john at feith.com>, I regular record programs and it works great.  The is no 
video out yet, but thats not a big deal for me as I watch it on my windows 
laptop
