Recommended hardware and software to capture video stream

Do you want MPEG-1 or MPEG-2?  If you just want MPEG-1 (320x240 or there
abouts), then a standard Bt848 card would work.  If you want MPEG-2,
there in a PVR-250+ that should do what you want.  The driver isn't
integrated into FreeBSD but was posted to this list recently.
