I'm not sure what the lifedrive wants but my Palm Treo's (300, 600, 650,
and 755) all want the uvisor module loaded into the kernel.

As root try loading uvisor by:

     
     % kldload uvisor

Then retry the sync. If that fixes it you can permanently load the
module by adding the line:


     uvisor_load="YES"

to /boot/loader.conf
