ok, I'll make a wild guess:

you are doing 
  /etc/rc.d/bluetooth start
instead of
  /etc/rc.d/bluetooth start ubt0

if so, please take a look at the bluetooth section in the handbook,
it told me everything I needed to know to get bluetooth working.
