Ill use this same topic to ask this.. :-)

when i enable dhcp for lets say my bfe0 card:

ifconfig_bfe0="DHCP"

when the system boots, and there is no cable connected to the
interface,
i see this:

bfe0: no link .............. giving up

the cable is rarely connected becouse its a notebook..
and that message takes about 5 seconds to pass.
and it occurrs twice when the system boots up.

why is it trying to obtain a ip adress on a inteface wich has no link?
it should quit inmediatly...

(if i dont configure this on rc.conf, then when pluggin a cable,
dhclient wont run, as stated in devd.conf, wich is pretty neat.)

good luck,
